Rustic pallet wood coffee table with hairpin legs,
Recently I completed two small coffee tables made with reclaimed pallet wood, to give a rustic look and bare metal hairpin legs to add a light industrial touch.
They began as pallets.
Which I then broke down.
I ran boards through the table saw to straighten their edges, then sanded them down. I then glued them together and left overnight to dry.
Then more sanding to remove any glue and give them a nice smooth finish.
I then applied the stain. Once dry I gave it four coats of Danish oil before a final polyurethane finish to seal it and give it some durability.
The smaller of the of the two tables, L78.5cm x w30cm x H38cm
Was stained with a teak stain, before applying the Danish oil, each coat taking twenty-four hours to dry, Then finished with polyurethane varnish.
The larger coffee table L71.5cm x w48cm x H38cm.
This table went through the same process only with a dark oak stain.
